Around the time I was 20, I had worked as a big-ticket salesperson in a department store. A big-ticket item is a good that has a high selling price. I was reluctant to sell fridges, ovens, and similar things, but was pushed into the position to cover scheduling gaps. I didn’t enjoy the experience, but I did take note of the income potential linked to selling big-ticket items.
In the online world, “big-ticket” is used interchangeably with “high-ticket.” High-ticket refers to products and services that cost hundreds to thousands of dollars. For example, some training programs and online courses cost more than $1,000 while many SaaS providers can get quite costly.
Many, if not most, affiliate marketing programs consist of low to mid-cost items for sale. However, high-ticket affiliate programs do exist and usually pay high commissions because of the effort required to convert sales. For example, Shopify pays $2,000 for each Shopify Plus referral.
To qualify for my list of high-ticket programs, a company must have a product or service that cost a minimum of $1,200. The charge can be one-time or on a subscription/recurring payment plan. Merchants typically list their affiliates programs in menus found at the top/bottom of pages.
